About CCSCC

  • CTA is divided into Districts and ours is District G. In our district, we have multiple Service Centers. Service Center Councils (SCC) function as a liaison between CTA State Council and local chapter affiliations with CTA. They are not considered apart of the policy-making and/or governing structure of the Association.

Our Service Center is located in Salinas, and it is not only where our CTA Contact Staff work, but where local unions can access numerous resources. How we divide those resources and what services or trainings we offer are determined by the Central Coast Service Center Council. Our Council serves the Central Coast - meaning we serve 33 local teachers unions, from Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties.

We host Service Center Council meetings quarterly, where you can learn what other unions are working on, find ways to work together, and share your voice in the goals of our larger group. We Stand Together. We Are Stronger Together. We are the CCSCC.

  • 1. SCC will conduct four meetings a year prior to each meeting of the CTA State Council of Education, and at such other times as it may desire, consistent with the policies of the Association. It is the responsibility of chapter presidents or their designee and State Council representatives to attend these general meetings prior to each State Council.

    2. Provide a center for exchange of information and discussion of actions under consideration by the State Council of Education.

    3. Serve as a forum and hearing body on issues referred through the CTA governance structure, by Council and/or Board action (i.e. CTA Budget Hearings).

    4. Coordination of membership participation in regional CTA activities, including workshops, multi-district Council seat elections, NEA delegate elections, political activities, including recommendation of legislative candidates and legislative contact programs.

    5. Assist in the identification of priorities for and evaluation of regional programs and service needs and refer concerns from chapters to the CTA Governance structure.
